Essential Kitchen IV-Gadets Galore
Patrick & I often mention that we didn't start out loving kitchen duty. But, between family obligations, & our love of great food, we began do the work needed. It was just a matter of time before we began hunting for the best gadgets we could find to make our lives & our meals easier & faster. Whether it's looking for healthy, delicious recipes that we can whip up quickly, or testing every new item we could use in the kitchen to make life easier, we're all in now.
This is our last in the Essential Kitchen series, & we want to show you how many great gadgets, old & new, you should have in your essential kitchen. This is really more Patrick's domain, as he loves all the high-tech toys, tools & gadgets he can find.
I can start you off with baseline essentials for every kitchen. Here's my pick for a great-looking 13-Piece Utensil Set. It includes a solid spoon, slotted spoon, ladle, flexible turner, spaghetti server, can opener, potato masher, whisk, spatula, tongs, garlic press and a sleek utensil holder to keep together. Literally everything you might need for cooking, baking, grilling, and serving.
Of course, as a devoted wine-drinker, no kitchen is complete without a fantastic wine opener. This one is easy on the hands, & works quickly on both traditional & synthetic corks. There has always been back-up for the health benefits of wine, & now, newly released information suggests that drinking wine can actually help with weight loss. Cheers!
I am a newly-converted fan of the Spiralizer, because you can make "spaghetti" from zucchini or squash, & skip the heavier pastas & rice at night. An added bonus? This unit is an 8-in-1, with a cheese grater & a hand-juicer, plus different sized blades for assuring the right veggie thickness for your spirals.
You can also check out some of the favorites I've mentioned in previous blogs that I use everyday: the Soda Stream, & the Ninja Bullet. I love them both. Soda Stream eliminates the need for ever buying plastic beverage bottles to get a great, sparking drink, & my Ninja whips up my favorite smoothies, a spicy bruschetta or a refreshing gazpacho.
Our Shop has a few more items we've chatted about, so surf a bit. You're sure to find something you need or want in your kitchen, to make everyday life easier!
For the more unusual & interesting gadgets that have come on the market, Patrick is busy lining them up for our follow-up podcast, The PJ Wellness Show, at 7PM on Thursday. To discover the real wizardry of his gadget collection, & what you can do in your kitchen, be sure to tune in!
Best, Patrick & Jo-Anna
TakeAway Tip: Everyone's kitchen is unique. If you're in the kitchen more often for breakfast-keep the toaster & the blender on your counter top. If you're together more often for dinner-keep your mini-grill, knives & spices on your counter top. Organizing what you use most for easy accessibility is key to having a kitchen that works best to keep you & yours healthy.
