Summer Sips & Snacking Tips

Good & Good For You

· Living Well Blog,Lifestyle,Tips

Summer is almost here, & we'll be exploring all the cool sips & snacking tips we can find to make sure you're summer is delicious, fun & healthy too! We'll be covering a teaser here in our blog, with a much more detailed look next Thursday during our PJ Wellness podcast, so sign up to catch it all!

Let's start with what to drink. Of course there are lots of specialty waters available, & we're partial to San Pellegrino. Refreshing & not too salty. We covered a bit about smoothies in a recent blog/podcast combo that you can check out here.

We've got lots of Smoothie recipes you can try too, along with some sweet treats.

For those who'd like something more inspiring, let's talk wine.

I've never been a fan of boxed wines, but a Living Well lifestyle always leads you to discovering great new things! Just came across Bota Box's new offering called "Breeze". It's the perfect wine for hot summer days & nights, & comes in Pinot Grigio, Red Blend & Rosé. It's lower alcohol content level also means, lower sugars, carbs & calories. And, it's gluten-free to boot!

For savory snack to whet your palate, take a look at summer snacks that are easy to make, healthy, & delicious. We've gotten into the spirit of tapas, because you can taste a bite of everything! Here are just a few of our favorites, & you can find more in our collection of recipes.

We love making everything as simple as possible, so an easy creamy pesto dip with carrots, or a skewered watermelon & feta combo, both hit light & lovely notes. We also loved the tsatziki with olives & peppers, & the prosciutto wrapped apricots. Check them out & you can pair with great breads & crackers too!

The whole idea this summer, especially after this winter-is to lighten up on everything! Not just the ingredients, but the time, resources & places you've usually been having your sips & snacks. Move everything outside & dine al fresco. Keep your list of ingredients & the time they need to a minimum.

Try new combinations that suit the season, & make it a family fun event finding new foods & different ways to pair & prepare them. Create your own world dish competition, where each of you presents a foreign appetizer or beverage that no one has tried before. There's so much to discover!

Summer is almost here, so get ready to live the healthiest happiest season yet. Explore & Enjoy!
