Coffee Or Tea?

Take  Break-It's Good For You

· Living Well Blog,Personal Care,Tips

Everybody needs to treat themselves to a break & often! Coffee & tea are go-tos for people all over the world, & for good reason. Whether you're into Café au Lait or Espresso, English Breakfast or Tazo Zen, coffee & tea have some amazing perks-pardon the pun!

Although the percentage of coffee-drinkers vs tea aficionados varies depending on where you are in the world, it’s very clear that almost everyone loves the ritual- the smells, tastes & feelings that comes from taking a break, & enjoying one of them.

But there’s so much more to it than that! Research has been mounting for a long time on the many benefits, apart from a pleasurable indulgence, that drinking a cup of coffee or tea can bring.

We’ll be really exploring all of it in depth in our PJ Wellness Show-our Thursday podcast, so don’t forget to tune in wherever you get yours. Or, just sign up here.

Let’s start off with a cup of Joe. Not only does it give you an energized kick, but the latest studies prove that drinking 2-4 cups a day promotes longevity & lowers the risk of many diseases. There’s even evidence that decaffeinated coffee helps keep type 2 diabetes at bay & lowers mortality rates.

3 really good reasons to keep your coffee habit? It helps prevent cardiovascular disease, gives your brain a better chance of fending off Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s, & helps you boost your workout prowess & recover faster afterward. Wow!

As for tea, ancient cultures have known abouts its’ health benefits for centuries. The range of medicinal uses most often list the immunity-boosting effects, especially of black, green & oolong teas. Everything from better resistance to colds & flus, to reducing the oxidative stress that leads to inflammation, & a whole host of resulting conditions.

Is there anything more soothing than chamomile tea before bed? Or hibiscus with its’ tangy aroma & blood pressure-lowering benefits? There are so many amazing varieties of tea that you could try a different one every day & find a healthy benefit unique to that special brew.

You know we love our ambiance. The whole adventure of setting up a lovely tray with your favorite coffee or tea, beautiful mugs, & of course a healthy treat or two beautifully arranged on lovely dishes cannot be understated. It’s a personal moment of pure & sensual pleasure, & it’s good for you-in every sense of the word!

Head toward your favorite nook under a tree, or even try your break in the bathtub. No matter where you alight to have your break, your mind & body will thank you.

There are few activities that can both relax & rejuvenate at the same time, so make sure you take a moment this week to create your own coffee or tea break. Let us know what you came up with, & we’ll share it with our followers. We’ll put up some great new recipes for coffee, tea & treats in our Kitchen, so check them out & enjoy!
